On July 26, 2022, a buffet dinner reception was held at the residence of the Consul General of Finland in New York City to introduce the new future Consul General of Finland, starting in September, Jarmo Sareva and his wife Jaana Sareva. The current Consul General Mika Koskinen, and his wife Cecilia, are returning to Helsinki after having been in New York City for three years and for four years prior in Lima, Peru, where Mika was the Ambassador of Finland to Peru. The new Consul General. Jarmo Sareva, is a career diplomat. He served in various positions at the UN, and was Ambassador of Finland to the UN in New York. His wife, Jaana Sareva, has been a member of the Finnish American Lawyers Association (FALA) while working at the United Nations in New York City. |
